The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Caribbean Healthcare System (VACHS), San Juan; Puerto Rico is conducting market research to identify potential sources with the qualification and/or require certification to perform the transportation and disposal of all recyclable materials. The intent of this procurement maintenance is to fully provide all required labor, materials, equipment, transportation and supervision to render pick-up, transporting and disposal of all recyclable materials generated at the VA Caribbean Health System (VACHS). Work will be conducted accordance with contract term and condition, specifications and compliant with applicable Environmental Protection Agency, and State and local regulatory agency requirements. The purpose of this Source Sought notice is to identify Service Disable Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB) and Small Business interested in this procurement, the level of experience, qualifications, and whether it might be suitable for a specific small business socioeconomic group set-aside. The intention for this procurement action is to establish a long term contract with a Base Period year and four (4) Option Period years. a. Individual, firm, company, partnership or corporation shall be headquartered in Puerto Rico, registered in the Puerto Rico Registry of Bidders, and shall be registered as a Recycling company that provides labor, materials, equipment, transportation and supervision to render pick-up, transporting and disposal of all recyclable materials.
b. Individual, firm, company, partnership or corporation shall be able to demonstrate of having extensive experience within the field of recycling, reducing the facility's waste disposal costs and applying innovative technologies to making recycling programs easy and cost effective.
c. The contractor shall comply with Joint Commission Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO) requirements. To comply with JCAHO requirement the contractor shall provide written confirmation that employees are competent to perform the task as described this announcement.
