Please note that this solicitation is not ready to be issued as of this date. The requirement is for the operation and management of Local Guard Services, which shall prevent unauthorized access, protect life, maintain order, deter criminal attacks against employees, dependents and property and terrorist acts against all US assets and prevent damage to U.S. Government property. The contractor shall furnish managerial, administrative and direct labor personnel to accomplish all work as required in the contract. The estimated number of annual hours for guards is 728,368. These requirements may change depending on funding availability in forth coming periods. Anticipated performance is for one base period of twelve months and four one-year periods at the option of the Government. Major duties and responsibilities are to perform access control to limit entry to only authorized personnel or visitors, the operation of walk-through metal detectors, hand-held detectors, surveillance detection, and special monitoring devices. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which will be considered. The Government plans to issue the solicitation during the month of October 2006.The solicitation will be issued via the FedBizOpps, no paper copies will be mailed.
