The Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate, Rome NY intends to solicit and negotiate a sole source purchase order under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 with Roper Mobile Technology (RMT) Inc. , 7450 S. Priest Dr. Tempe, AZ for purchase of quantity 7 Duros 8404 Tablet PC's. Though this notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, information received by the response date of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The NAICS code is 334111.

SOLE SOURCE JUSTIFICATION:

AFRL/RIEC requires the procurment of seven handheld rugged PC's which are compatible with the existing systems in under the AFRL effort: CHAMPION Joint Capability Technology Demonstration (JCTD). RMT, Inc. is the only source that can satisfy the government's requirement. The Air Force would have to develop and integrate new hardware and software to integrate PCs operating on a different system.
