The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to purchase services from a qualified small business to provide DENV-1, DENV-2, DENV-3 and DENV-4 virus and viral RNA standards in order to harmonize comparison of several RT-PCR methods. This requirement is a total small business set aside. The vendor will also run PCR tests of these standards. The work will help CDC evaluate these tests and identify the best performing methods for detection of dengue virus. The vendor shall work with CDC to successfully complete a comparison of six RT-PCR protocols for the detection of DENV-1, DENV-2, DENV-3, DENV-4 by producing virus standards. These standards will range in concentration from 100,000 copies/ml to 1 copy/ml and will be dispensed in tubes and stored in sufficient amounts to compare 6 RT-PCR protocols. The vendor will also distribute the virus standards to CDC laboratories and other laboratories as requested and identified by CDC.
