A. Street Improvements on Mohawk Street: Siena Ln to Hageman Rd: THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROJECT is to widen Mohawk Street from Siena Lane to Hageman Road, and install a traffic signal at the intersection of Mohawk Street and Hageman Road. The portion of the project between Krebs Road and Hageman Road will be realigned. THE WORK CONSISTS, in general, of curb, gutter, and sidewalk; earthwork; relocation of fences and utilities; asphalt concrete pavement; aggregate base; striping and signage; storm drainage facilities; and a new traffic signal. The funding for this project will be through Local Funds. THE PRELIMINARY ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION COST RANGE of this project is $1,800,000 to $2,300,000. THE ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION TIME FRAME for this project is anticipated to be May 2015 to August 2015. The City anticipates that bid documents for these projects will be available in March 2015. There are no preliminary documents available for review during the RSQ process. B. Pavement Rehabilitation on Gosford Road: White Ln to Ming Ave: THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROJECT is to rehabilitate the existing pavement on Gosford Road between White Lane and Ming Avenue. THE WORK CONSISTS, in general, of rehabilitating the asphalt concrete pavement, adjusting manhole and monument covers, and placing striping, pavement markings and traffic signal detector loops. The funding for this project will be through the Regional Surface Transportation Program (RSTP) and Local Funds. Proposed rehabilitation methods include full depth reconstruction. THE PRELIMINARY ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION COST RANGE of this project is $3,800,000 to $4,300,000. THE ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION TIME FRAME for this project is anticipated to be May 2015 to August 2015. The City anticipates that bid documents for these projects will be available in March 2015. There are no preliminary documents available for review during the RSQ process. The City of Bakersfield (City) will only receive construction bids from general contractors who have been approved to be on the Final Bidders List for these projects. General contractors interested in submitting a construction bid for these projects must first submit a Responsibility Statement and Questionnaire as described in this document. Firms interested in submitting bids as a subcontractor or material supplier do not need to submit a Responsibility Statement and Questionnaire (RSQ).
