The U.S. Geological Survey intends to make a non-competitive award in accordance with FAR Subpart 13.5 Simplified Acquisition Procedures to Keyence, to purchase a digital, fluorescence microscope for capturing high-resolution, publication-worthy photographs and image analyses for fluorescent methodologies. The Eastern Ecological Science Center requires to purchase this because the ongoing projects are increasingly utilizing fluorescent in situ hybridization and RNAscope techniques to understand molecular changes associated with disease risk factors and identify viruses and other pathogens in tissues. A scope that is easy to setup and operate, has a built-in darkroom, can perform batch-analysis of large data sets, and is fully digitally controlled is required. This document sets forth the justification and approval as required by FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) ¿Only One Source Reasonably Available¿.
All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation no later than
01/16 /2024 shall be considered by the agency. However, this notice of intent is
not a request for competitive proposals. Information received will normally be
considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive
