Rim BAER Skidders. This solicitation is for skidder support for the Rim Fire rehabilitation. The response time for this solicitation is reduced due to the Urgent and Compelling nature of this need. FAR 6.302-2. The solicitation is 100% Small Business Set-aside AND offers will only be solicitated from businesses in the following California counties: Calaveras, Tuolumne, Mariposa and Alpine, pursuant to FAR 26.202, Local Area Preference. The Rim Fire was declared a Federal Disaster area August 17, 2013, Declaration FM-5049, California Rim Fire. The intent of the solicitation is to provide skidder support for road crews with road stabilization and hazard tree removal. Skidders will be used and paid on a daily basis. Skidders must meet additional fire suppression requirements as the work area contains some active fire.
