Project listing and description of work are as follows: PROJECT LISTINGS: GH01 – BRIDGE REMOVAL This work is the removal of the existing open-grid deck of the structural steel bridge. The existing block walls and abutments are to remain. At one time, this bridge carried T-373 (Naylor Avenue) over Gourdhead Run, but it has been closed for many years. Guide rail will be constructed as a permanent barrier on the west approach to the former bridge and right-of-way fence will be constructed on the east side to completely close off the east approach to the bridge. HP02 – CULVERT REPLACEMENT This work is the replacement of a 24” CMP culvert which conveys an unnamed tributary to Rachel Carson Run under Cottontail Drive in Harrison Hills Park. An existing 12” CMP which runs parallel to the roadway and conveys a drainage swale to the 24” pipe culvert, will also be replaced for better alignment. Safety upgrades are also proposed at the site. HP03 – CULVERT REPLACEMENT This work is the replacement of an existing corrugated metal elliptical pipe culvert carrying Rachel Carson Run under Cottontail Drive with a precast concrete box culvert. The increased depth of the replacement structure caused a change in the profile grade requiring full-depth pavement replacement. Safety upgrades are also proposed at the site. KL16 – CULVERT REPLACEMENT This work is the replacement of an existing corrugated metal arch culvert with a concrete box culvert, carrying County Road No. 1031 (Blackburn Road) over a branch of Kilbuck Run in Sewickley Heights Borough, Allegheny County. The increased depth of the replacement structure caused a change in the profile grade requiring a section of full-depth pavement replacement. MR02 – CULVERT REPLACEMENT This work is the replacement of the existing structure carrying County Road No. 4081-01 (Coal Valley Road No. 1) over McRobert’s Run. The existing structure is a combination of a slab bridge and steel beams with SIP forms all seated on stone abutments. The replacement structure will be a precast concrete box culvert. Safety upgrades are also proposed at this site. AA00-2021B DESCRIPTION OF WORK -2- SK01 – STRUCTURE PRESERVATION This work is the rehabilitation/extension of an existing concrete rigid frame culvert carrying County Road No. 2105-00 (Duncan Avenue) over Stillhouse Run in Hampton Township, Allegheny County. This project also includes the construction of a rock embankment on both sides of the roadway to aid in the stabilization of the roadway slopes.
