The intent of this Request for Proposals (hereinafter referred to as “RFP”) is to contract with an innovative qualified Employee Benefits Management Consultant who has a proven track record of providing quality and effective services at competitive rates. The Consultant shall ensure the county remains in compliance with current laws and acts as a liaison between TPAs, Vendors, and the County. The successful respondent will have proven consulting excellence in all aspects of employee benefits, including but not limited to, the topics listed below. The County’s employee benefits plan is a self-funded employee health and wellness plan. Proposers must submit their qualifications for consideration in providing a proposal for this scope of work. Experience providing Employee Benefits to one or more public entities or counties of similar size is desired. Nueces County will not consider responses which include commission for any employee benefits and/or group health insurance product or service in their quoted compensation. The selected Consultant shall be prohibited from receiving commission or any other monetary benefit from an insurance carrier or service provider in relation to any employee benefits service provided to Nueces County. The contract is to furnish Nueces County with Employee Benefits Management & Consulting Services for an initial term of one (1) year beginning upon execution of a contract, with an option to renew. Each renewal, if mutually acceptable to the Contractor and Nueces County, will be in twelve (12) month increments, not to exceed four (4) additional years past the initial term. In the event this contract expires before another contract is awarded, the Contractor shall extend the contract on a month-to-month basis by mutual agreement.
