The Riverside County Purchasing Department, on behalf of the Riverside County Department of Public Social Services (DPSS), hereafter referred to as the County, is seeking proposals from interested, qualified, and experienced bidders to provide specialized transportation services for the following target populations : Elderly/dependent adults, as well as their caregivers. These clients shall be transported to medical appointments, visitation, shopping, and other DPSS approved activities and client services throughout Riverside County and the surrounding regions. Bidder shall have the capability to accommodate limited mobility clients (wheelchairs, walkers, etc.). Access to reliable transportation is particularly important for older adults who don't have easy access to reliable public transportation and face an almost doubled risk of depression due to the lack of independence and increased risk of social isolation. Additionally, County is seeking proposals from interested, qualified, and experienced bidders to provide specialized transportation services for Foster Youth between the ages of six (6) and seventeen (17) to their school of origin, visitations, and other identified needs. Specialized Transportation Services will include helping to mitigate the potential liability issues involved in the transportation of the target population by ensuring every transport receives client-specific care and assistance by qualified staff during transport. Contractor shall cultivate staff and program capacity in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion to address and serve families of DPSS in a culturally and linguistically considerate manner and ensure equal access to services and equitable outcomes across the diverse client population.
