2023 Sack Lunch Vendor Request for Offer. RFO is a detailed request for vendors to submit offers for various types of sack lunches for CAL FIRE staff to be purchased during an emergency incident. This year's Sack Lunch has the following adjustments from last year's request: 1. In RFO Cover section, page 6, update in Response to Attachment E, Product Specificity to indicate that vendors must utilize the CAL FIRE/Wellness Group created Attachment E. Vendor can attach additional documents if desired, but Attachment E is a required document 2. In RFO Cover Section, page 6, update in Response to Attachment H, Meal Handling Requirements: updated language to indicate pandemic state of emergency ending, but to still follow health and safety guidelines as recommend by the State and Fed government 3. In Attachment A, Page 10, indicating that vendors are required to use CAL FIRE/Wellness Group created checklist when delivering goods. 4. In Attachment C, Page 17, language added that mileage rate is not to exceed IRS reimbursement rate. Flat rate can be indicated, but is subject to CAL FIRE right to negotiate. 5. In Attachment D. This section has taken into account feedback received last year regarding the updates to nutrition requirements. The changes are not as substantive as last year's changes, but should be noted when building meals: a) Consolidated redundant categories (ex: meat vs vegetarian non refrigerated entrée) b) Removed any required bread language to allow for vendors to use what they think is the most durable. c) Removed food examples that are not suitable for shift duration or limited access to cooking. d) Added discretionary (not required) dessert category to Firefighter lunches. Dessert item will not count towards the added 50g sugar cap. e) Added gram and oz measurements to sandwich category (included formula in Attachment E for ease of calculating totals) f) Updated 2023 language from 2022 Sack Lunch amendments where applicable. g) Added clarifying language throughout to better describe or define categories and requirements. h) Added recommendation that the completed checklist be required with product deliveries for ease of confirmation of delivery. 6. In Attachment E, CAL FIRE has updated the document for ease of use. Attachment E be required with vendor RFO submissions for ease of confirmation of meeting requirements. Vendor may submit additional documents with Attachment E, but Attachment E will be required. Added the discretionary dessert category (no sugar cap). Added an oz to grams calculator Consolidated fields where needed. 7. In Attachment H, Page 30, modified language to indicate that COVID state of emergency in CA is ending, but it still following safe work practices. Modified language on face masks to follow CDPH recommendations when around food preparation.
