The Naval Medical Logistics Command has a requirement for one (1) blood irradiator for United Stated Naval Hospital Okinawa. The unit shall be used in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for patients in need of transfusion. The unit shall be FDA-approved for irradiation of blood and blood products to treat Graft Versus Host Disease. The unit shall use X-Ray irradiation to irradiate blood and blood products packaged in transfusion bags. The unit shall be able to irradiate whole blood, platelets, and loaded syringes in the same cycle. The unit shall not use nuclear materials. The unit shall include a barcode reading system and PC tablet. The unit shall be self-contained and shall not require any facility modifications. The vendor shall provide on-site operator and biomedical engineer technician training for at least two (2) individuals. The vendor shall include installation of the unit. The unit shall include a one (1) year manufacturer's warranty. The power requirements are 120 VAC, 60 Hz.
