The purpose of this project is to advance the construction of the Westside Parkway and make a functional connection to Allen Road to facilitate the construction of the next phase of this project without major interruptions to traffic in the area. This project will construct a partial interchange at Allen Rd and the Westside Parkway including the Allen Rd bridge, the eastbound on ramp and the westbound off ramp. Also included in the project is the widening of Allen Rd, the construction of concrete structures such as retaining walls, drainage system, and soundwalls. Underground utilities will have to be relocated to the new bridge by the contractor and/or by the utility companies. RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENT AND QUESTIONNAIRE (RSQs) submitted in conformance with the City’s RSQ will be received by the City of Bakersfield at the Thomas Roads Improvement Program Office, 2nd floor, Suite 200, 900 Truxtun Ave, Bakersfield, CA 93301 until 4:00 p.m. SEPTEMBER 16, 2011.
