The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on behalf of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory (NPPTL) intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Dr. Derek Cummings at the University of Florida for continued research, data analyses, and reports relating to the ResPECT research study which began under a prior contract in 2010. This is a follow-on purchase order/simplified acquisition. Dr. Cummings has worked on this research since the project's inception in 2010 and his continued expertise is required to ensure consistency with the methodology used throughout the duration of this study. Moreover, Dr. Cummings is one of the very few individuals that has access to all the data, which was acquired through various institutions and through numerous IRBs.

This order is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1 (b) for Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability by responding to this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive responses; however, all responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
