The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) intends to award a purchase order on a non-competitive sole source basis to Southern Research Institute, 2000 9th Avenue S, Birmingham, AL 35205-2708. FDA will have the following research study on Pandemic Flu and blood safety: studies to determine viremia and potential transfusion transmission in H5N1 infection using small animal models:

A determination to compete this procurement based on response(s) to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All inquiries must be received by 10:00 AM (1000) EST on 22 July 2008 to the attention of David Kordel, [email protected]. The FDA intends to make an award immediately after the response date of this notice. The purchase order will be made in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
