The City of Malibu is requesting proposals from qualified firms to provide Engineering Design Services for the PCH Crosswalk Improvements at Big Rock and 20326 project as part of the Public Works Capital Improvements Program. The foremost objective of this project is to improve pedestrian safety on Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). This project is located in City of Malibu, California, at the Big Rock and PCH intersection and at 20326 Pacific Coast Highway, adjacent to Moonshadows Restaurant. The proposed project scope includes critical traffic safety measures to address pedestrian safety at these locations where residents and restaurant patrons frequently cross the highway. The City is looking for emerging solutions for these specifically challenging highway crossings that may require “out of the box”, advanced technology or experimental approaches. The project is within Caltrans’ right-of-way in the City of Malibu. It is subject to Caltrans’ project development and permitting process, the City’s Local Coastal Program, and other applicable federal, state, and local requirements. The City's standard professional services agreement is provided in Attachment B. Please note that this contract is a draft and may be modified to reflect certain requirements prior to execution. Depending upon the scope of work, the contract provisions may need to include the California State Prevailing Wages.
