This Request for Information (RFI) is the initiation of Market Research under Part 10 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). In the 1970's, the Department of Defense (DoD) introduced the standard issue frame (S9). It has been recommended that the standard issue frame be revised to reflect the same durability of the S9 but be more appealing to those who wear the frame. The DoD Optical Fabrication Enterprise (OFE) is soliciting all frame vendors to provide samples of frames they feel meet the attached requirements.
