OVERVIEW
This is a Request for Information (THIS IS NOT AN RFP OR RFQ) to identify potential firms/contractors/vendors that can provide equipment/support/service for Marine Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) Receivers as described below.
The United States Coast Guard (USCG) uses DGPS Receivers onboard Cutters and boats for the many missions we support. The Command, Control, and Communication Engineering Center (C3CEN) in Portsmouth Virginia provides support for Marine DGPS equipment installed on Cutters and boats. It is C3CEN's goal to support our assets by being able to acquire Marine DGPS Receivers, support services and parts.
SPECIFICATIONS
The Following Equipment will be required to comply with the following:
a. National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) - 0183 Version 2.3 or higher interfacing using RS232/RS422 connections.
b. RTCM 10402.3
PRODUCTS OF INTEREST
1. DGPS Receivers
2. Dual Freq (L1/L2) GPS with Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring (RAIM)
INFORMATION SOUGHT
The following Information is sought by this RFI.
a. Are the above Marine Receivers types currently manufactured and available for purchase?
b. If so, how long do you anticipate this equipment to be available for purchase?
c. Are repair services and parts available for the above equipment?
d. If so, how long do you anticipate the support services and parts to be available for this equipment?
e. What is the long-term plan for this equipment (beyond 5 years from now)?
f. Please provide the Name and Cage Code of your Company with responses to this RFI.
This RFI is for planning purposes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government/USCG, nor will the Government/USCG pay for information and or items solicited. No basis for claim against the Government/USCG shall arise as a result from a response to this RFI or Government use of any information provided.
