Atomic Force Microscope-Nanoscale Infrared Spectroscopy Microscope

This is neither a request for formal request for proposal (RFP) or quote. The government will not reimburse any costs associated with the development and submission of materials in response to this request. No solicitation is available at this time; however, should such a requirement materialize, no basis for claims against Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) shall arise as a result of a response to this Sources Sought notice or NRL's use of such information as either part of our evaluation process or in developing specifications for any subsequent requirement.
Objective
The NRL is searching for potential sources that are capable of meeting the requirements set forth in the attached draft specifications entitled "Atomic Force Microscope-Nanoscale Infrared Spectroscopy Microscope (AFM-NISM)."
The intent of this RFI is to gauge industry capabilities in providing the required hardware.
CONTRACTOR RESPONSE FORMAT
The NRL asks that interested parties, at a minimum, supply the following information:
Contact Information
a. Name of company and point of contact (POC)
b. Telephone number, fax number, address, and e-mail address of POC
c. Business size and number of employees
d. Capabilities statement and relevant experience in providing the required hardware
e. Proposed NAICS code
f. Proposed PSC code
Pricing, Schedule, and Commerciality Information
NRL is requesting interested contractors to provide rough order of magnitude (ROM) estimate of fixed price and delivery schedule. This RFI is also being used to determine the commerciality of the required AFM-NISM. Please see FAR 2.101 for the definition of "commercial item" and include a statement of the commerciality of the offered product.
Past Performance Information
Please provide in the response a list of Navy, DoD, or federal contracts supported during the past 36 months with a brief description of the supply or service provided per each contract. Only list contracts similar to those of the draft specifications attached.
Assumptions
Please provide a list of assumptions, if any, which were considered in formulating the response.

All information and data received in response to this RFI marked or designated as corporate or proprietary information will be protected as such.
