The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) requests your bid for solicitation IFB/FQ9094/STH, for the replacement of underground Metrorail Station Lighting fixtures system wide in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia. This is a fixed priced, construction contract for the replacement of underground station lighting fixtures, system wide. The work includes, but is not limited to: furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, management, quality control, insurance, testing, transportation, safety, appurtenances and other items necessary to replace under ground station lighting fixtures, system wide. The estimated cost for this work is more than 10 million dollars. The overall contract duration is 730 calendar days after NTP.
A pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at the WMATA, Jackson Graham Building, Meeting Room Lobby Level, 600 Fifth Street, N.W., Washington, DC 20001.
Bids must be delivered no later than 2:00 P.M., on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 to WMATAâs Jackson Graham Building (JGB) Headquarters, Lobby Level, located at 600 Fifth Street, NW, Washington, D.C. 20001, Attn: Mr. Steven Hussey , Office of Procurement and Material as stated in the Invitation for Bid. The public is invited to attend the bid opening in the Meeting Room at the lobby level, of the Jackson Graham Building. Visitors are welcome. Amendments will only be issued to the plan holders who purchased the subject bid documents. If Amendments are issued, the currently scheduled bid opening date, may or may not change depending on the timing, degree of the changes necessary, etc.
Please note that currently no funding is available for this project. The solicitation is posted in anticipation of WMATA receiving needed funds from the Federal Government after the approval of Economic Recovery Stimulus Package currently under development by the U.S. Congress and the Administration. The contract will be awarded only after the receipt of needed funds by WMATA from the Federal Government.
The award will be made to the apparent lowest bid by a contractor who is both responsive and responsible, refer to Solicitation Instructions, Article 13. As a result, each bidder needs to submit a complete set of bidding documents, such as WMATAâs Bid Form, Certification and Representations, Price Schedule, Bid Bond, DBE forms, etc. and other contractual requirements, as is further identified in the contract documents.
