The FAA intends to solicit and award a firm-fixed price contract for the replacement of Runway 22 Visual Approach Slope Indicator (VASI) with a Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI) at Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport, Janesville, Wisconsin.
The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, materials, and equipment to perform the project in accordance with the contract clauses, drawings, and specifications.
Work shall include, but is not limited to:
1. Identify by survey the runway crown elevation and location of the center of each PAPI Lamp Housing Assembly (LHA) and Power and Control Unit (PCU) concrete foundation.
2. Provide and install concrete foundation for the PAPI LHAââ¬â¢s and PCU rack.
3. Install four PAPI LHAs.
4. Provide and install PAPI PCU rack.
5. Provide and install power equipment on rack as shown on drawings.
6. Provide and install power and control equipment on New PAPI PCU rack as shown on drawings.
7. Provide PAPI access road and grading as required.
8. Provide and install power conductors from disconnect switch to disconnect switch on PAPI PCU rack as shown on drawings.
9. Provide and install power and control cables from PCU to PAPI LHAs.
10. Provide and install control switch in Airport Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) for PAPI ground to ground control.
11. Provide and install lightning protection and grounding for PAPI LHAs and PCU rack.
12. Provide and install geotextile fabric and crushed rock for work area around PAPI LHA and PCU rack.
13. Backfill, grade and seed areas disturbed during construction restoring affected areas to pre-construction conditions.
14. After cutover of new PAPI system, remove existing VASI system including power and control equipment. Existing direct buried power and control conductors will be abandoned in place. Remove VASI foundations, and crushed rock, restore old VASI sites to match surrounding pavement or soil, and coordinate drainage to prevent ponding.
15. Provide refuse disposal.
16. Remove VASI property and dispose of properly.
17. Miscellaneous civil and electrical work as described in the drawings and specifications.
Contract performance time is 20 calendar days, with an anticipated start date of April 19, 2013. The estimated price range for this procurement is between $100,000 and $250,000.
