SUBJECT: SYNOPSIS OF PROPOSED ACTION/NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE for repair of Enerdyne Decoder [DEC1000R5 decoders]

Notice of intent to award a sole source procurement for video compression decoder units, for SA-309913-01 (S/N 00001194) 1 each, and SA-309913-01 (S/N 00002600) 1 each. The intent of award is to Enerdyne Technologies, Inc 1935 Cordell Court, El Cajon, CA 92020.

DESCRIPTION: All labor, materials, parts, tools, equipment and facilities for repair of video compression decoder units. Said decoder units are highly specialized devices designed to operate in airborne electrically noisy environments while compressing flight test video to optimal clarity, intensity and focus. Decoder units receive digitized video signals from the encoder via any type of digital communications link. Additionally, the units accept digital video signal from the communications link devices in a digital data and digital clock format and then convert these signal back to the original standard NTSC color analog television picture.

Enerdyne Technologies, Inc. , noted above, is the only known source that can satisfy the requirements of the Government at this time. Please note that this is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirement are invited to submit in writing complete information describing their ability to repair the video compression decoder units. Responses may be submitted to e-mail [email protected] or mailed to AFFTC/PKEE, 5 SOUTH WOLFE AVE, EDWARDS AFB, CA 93524-1185; ATTN: Kim Rabatin. Information received as a result of this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determing whether to conduct a competitive procurement, based on responses received from this notice and is within the discretion of the Air Force. If the office does not receive any affirmative written reponses by 4:00 p.m. close of business (COB) 17 FEB 2011, a Sole Source purchase order will be issued with Enerdyne Technologies, Inc., 1935 Cordell Court, El Cajon, CA 92020.
