The Naval Air Systems Command has a requirement to repair failed Weapons Replaceable Assets (WRAs) on the AESA AN/APG-79A(V)1 Configuration "B" Radar systems that have been identified during the execution of Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) 6279. The NAVY intends to negotiate the effort as a sole source order to the F/A-18 Basic Ordering Agreement with Raytheon Company, El Segundo, CA. Award of the order will be made with authority under FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. As the prime contractor for the AN/APG-79A Radar, Raytheon is the original designer and manufacturer of the radar system for the F/A -18 aircraft and as such, is the only source that possesses all of the technical data necessary to repair AN/APG-79A(V)1 Configuration "B" Radar systems.
