There are three greenstone mullion piers damaged by the August, 2011 earthquake. The mullions are cracked, structurally loose, and in danger of falling. The stacked vertical greenstone mullions, which are rectangular piers, are about 8" X 20" X 40" high, stacked up th 38' high. This mullion grouping has three sets of vertical greenstone mullions with ten 40" sections and two 30" sections in each mullion. Approximately one third of the stones are damaged. However, the estimate is based on 50% damaged stones in order to allow for additonal stones that my be discovered to be loose.
The intent is to repair and structurally stabilize the mullions. Care should be taken to preserve and re-use existing stones at this potentially historic building. If it is not possible to re-use the existing stone, the GC shall replace the stone in kind (color, grating, and size).
