RECOVERY--THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTORS UNDER W91237-09-B-0002.

THIS MODIFICATION IS TO INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT:

THE COST OF THIS PROJECT IS BETWEEN $250,000.00 AND $500,000.00.

The Huntington District Corps of Engineers intends to procure a contract for Clamshell Dredging to maintain the navigable portion of the Elk River, which is a tributary to the Kanawha River. This dredging project requires the use of mechanical clamshell equipment and is comprised of dredging 40,000 cubic yards of sand from the mouth of the Elk River in Charleston, WV to river mile 2.5. The disposal area is located about 5 miles away and this requires the use of material barges to transport the material from the dredge site to the disposal area. This portion of the Elk River is extremely constricted, both vertically and horizontally. The horizontal limitations are due to the physical width from shore to shore of the waterway. The vertical clearance is limited due to structures such as bridges and aerial crossings. In addition, there are numerous utility sub-crossings. This announcement is open to all businesses regardless of size. The contract will be firm fixed price, competitively bid. The contract will be awarded to the responsive and responsible bidder with the lowest price. Solicitation documents will be available on 20 August 2009, online at http://www.fbo.gov . To be eligible for contract award, all contractors must be registered in the DOD Central Contractor Registration (CCR). Register via the CCR Internet site at http://www.ccr.gov or by contacting the DOD Electronic Commerce Information Center at 1-888-227-2423.
