RECOVERY - Transit passes

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland has a requirement for transit passes (smart card).  The NIH intends to contract with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), 600 Fifth Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001.  The NIH believes that WMATA is the only source that can provide this requirement. The WMATA is the sole issuer of the transit passes to be obtained on this proposed acquisition. This action is taken under the authority of 41 USC 253(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-5.  The contract shall be for one year with four twelve-month option periods.  The NAICS Code is 485111 and the business size is $7.0.  Any other firm that believes it can meet the requirement must submit by the response date (10 calendar days from date of this publication) a detail capability statement documenting their ability to provide transit passes.
