RECOVERY - This notice is to solicit offers for this project. The total value of the project is estimated at less than $25,000 and the Forest Service is seeking quotes using simplified acquisition procedures. This procurement is set aside for small businesses. The purpose of this project is to reduce or minimize catastrophic wildfires and restore fire dependent woodlands. This contract will remove hardwood midstory competition from these four units which will allow the development of the fire dependent herbaceous layer common to the longleaf ecosystem. This project will improve the fuel condition class and further enhance habitat for the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker. All specified stems will be cut, severed, or otherwise put on the ground with a chainsaw. See attachments for maps, statement of work, and all other detailed requirements.
