THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO 8A CONTRACTOR: Schnauzer Construction, Inc. (Mechanical, Inc.) (DUNS:018944525). This contract action will be accomplished using other than competitive procedures because a statute exists that expressly authorizes or requires it, (FAR 6.302-5) sole source awards under the 8a program. Foster Dam was constructed with an emergency diesel generator. The associated fuel tank is a single wall tank with a floor drain that empties into the tailrace. The Resource Conservation and Recovery Act and Oil Pollution Prevention Act are the primary regulations governing petroleum, oil and lubricant storage tanks and spills management. These regulations protect the environment and the nation's navigable waters and natural resources from potential hazards of a leakage from above ground storage tanks (AST). Under these regulations AST's must be equipped with secondary containment, cathodic/corrosion protection, leak detection systems, and monitoring systems. The contractor shall fabricate and deliver a new upgraded fuel storage and dispensing system for the Foster Dam Diesel Generator. The tank shall be UL-142 rated. Magnitude of construction is $100,000.00 to $250,000.00.
