Special Notice. Naval Medical Center San Diego, Material Management-Acquisition intends to award a sole source purchase order to Tecniplast USA Inc. for rabbit caging that unlatch paired caging to allow for ease of transport by a single individual; high grade stainless steel components; groups of caging can be latched together to provide social conditions; and divider panels to prevent injury when social animals are acclimating and more prone to fighting. These caging would allow the Vivarium facility to remain in compliance with standing regulations and maintain accreditation. The rabbit caging are for use at the Naval Medical Center San Diego Clinical Investigations Department, 34800 Bob Wilson Drive, San Diego, CA 92134. Determination of this sole source procurement is in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) Soliciting from a single source. It is the Government's belief that the proposed candidate is the only provider of the specific needed rabbit caging product that fits the Clinical Investigations Department specific needs.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation documents are available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However any business that believes it can provide the needed rabbit caging product that fits the Clinical Investigations Department specific needs may give written notice to [email protected] by 09 May 2016. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirement. Responses will be considered by the Government; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
