Description of Requirement
This Solicitation consists of conduct of noxious weed control by spraying USFS prescribed herbicides using the most effective combination of mobile ground/backpack/livestock sprayer methods within the Grizzly & Sylvan Fires Project Areas, Eagle, Rifle and Sopris Ranger Districts (see maps provided). Treatment applications will be implemented 1 time in the summer of 2024.
Scope: The services covered in this contract are for furnishing all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, and livestock (as needed) to spray noxious weeds in the specified project (bid) areas of the Eagle, Rifle and Sopris Ranger Districts in compliance with terms, specifications, conditions and provisions contained in the specifications. No specific quantity of work is guaranteed nor implied. Greater or fewer acres may be treated depending upon weather, severity of weed infestation, topography or other conditions. Work will be determined at a per “applicator day rate” basis.
There are invasive weed infestations that are well documented within these project areas. Weed species include Dalmatian toadflax, listed thistles (bull, Canada, musk, plumeless and Scotch), houndstongue, hoary cress, knapweeds (diffuse, Russian, and spotted), leafy spurge and any other Colorado State Listed noxious weed species identified while in the performance of this contract. The knapweeds and leafy spurge will be the priority species. The scope of this work involves remote, horse or foot and road accessible areas (approximately 80% remote and 20% road). The White River National Forest will provide the herbicide(s), surfactant, and marker dye necessary to fulfill the contract.
