The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in collaboration with Beninâs Ministry of Public Health, and Africare/Benin, intends to issue on a sole source basis, a purchase order in the amount of $30,000 to UNICEF to conduct a household survey of insecticide-treated bednets (ITNs) among pregnant women and children aged less than 5 years. The vendor must have experience supporting public health surveys in African countries; Must speak and write French fluently; demonstrate ability to collaborate successfully with public health organizations including ministries of health; be authorized to work in Benin and write employment contracts there and must have financial resources to pay for all tasks before submitting invoices for payment. CDC believes that UNICEF is the only vendor able and qualified to provide these services because of their uniquely trained staff, experience, and established working relationship with Beninâs Ministry of Public Health. Interested parties who feel that that they possess the capabilities to perform the services described above, should provide a capabilities statement demonstrating their qualifications, experience, established infrastructure and ability to perform the requirements. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. The information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement.
