The VHSO will be seeking a contractor that has been issued a certificate as a Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) through the National Cancer Registrars Association. The contractor shall provide all resources necessary to maintain and report all cancer information in an appropriate registry for Veterans, whose information has been authorized for release by the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks (VHSO), Fayetteville, Arkansas. The contractor shall compile/abstract/analyze data from patient records regarding tumor and cancer diagnoses and identify them through all relevant codes. In addition, the contractor will utilize the specific codes required in a cancer registry, i.e., demographics, diagnosis, stage of disease, site and histology, diagnostic procedures, extent of disease, treatment, morphology and topography using the International Classification of Diseases for Oncology, AJCC Staging Manual, and the FORDS manual. All information acquired is expected to be communicated/reported to the National Cancer Institute. Solicitation document to be available on or about April 18, 2012.
