THIS IS A FORMAL SYNOPSIS OF PROPOSED CONTRACT ACTION NOTICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH FAR 5.2. The SAF/XC Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) solicitation (FA7014-06-R-0002) has been cancelled as a result of contractor support cuts in future budgets which effected the scope and ceiling of the program. Continuity of services is imperative to the mission of SAF/XC; therefore, Air Force District of Washington Acquisition Division intends to award sole source bridge contracts for a period not to exceed 180 days for all existing contracts for The Office of the Secretary of the Air Force, Chief of Warfighting Integration and Chief Information Officer (SAF/XC) directly related to the A&AS requirements that were included in the cancelled solicitation. This action is required to prevent imminent work stoppage situations. The follow-on contract(s) to these sole source contract actions will be awarded on a competitive basis. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this acquisition is 541611 with an applicable size standard of no more than $6.5M gross annual revenue. The product code is 99. An Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process.
