The Agency Of Substance Abuse and Mental Health ServicesAdministration(SAMHSA), Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT), through the Division of Acquisition Management(DAM), Program Support Center(PSC), plans to award a 4 month contract
using simplified acquisition procedures to the National
Inhalant Prevention Coalition, 2904 Kirby Lane, Austin, TX 78703.
The anticipated date of award is August 11, 2003.
SAMHSAâs Center for Substance Abuse Treatment will join the National Inhalant Prevention Coalition (NIPC) as a partner in the twelveth annual âNational Inhalants and Poisons Awareness Weekâ. This will be the seventh year the SAMHSA/CSAT is a co-sponsor. The last six years have successfully spotlighted the need for treatment and prevention in the area of inhalant abuse and SAMHSA/CSATâs role as a leader in this effort. The week-long event, celebrated in March 2004, will gain national focus, mobilize community-level organizations, the media, parents, youth, and manufacturers; and increase awareness about the dangers and substantial increase of inhalant use.
National Inhalant and Poisons Awareness Week in March 2004. Through the Washington, DC news conference and associated radio, television and Internet programming during the week-long observance, SAMHSA/CSAT will gain an opportunity to help spotlight an effort that seeks to provide hope and help to youth and families suffering from inhalant abuse. Press related activities will be coordinated with SAMHSAâs Office of Communications.
The proposed simplified acquisition is for services for which the
Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source
Under authority of Far 6.302. Interested persons may identify
their interest by responding to the requirement within 10 days
after the date of publication of this notice. A determination by
the government not to compete this proposed simplified acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
