The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention contemplates award of a five year contract (including options) to establish and maintain a Library of CDC?s Influenza Viruses. The purpose of the contract would be to propagate, characterize, store and distribute CDC viruses and standardized panels of organisms that can be distributed to researchers and developers of influenza vaccines, antiviral drugs and influenza virus diagnostic products. Organisms will include human influenzae, low and highly pathogenic avian influenza viruses and their derivatives, as well as other viral and microbial respiratory pathogens associated with influenza-like illness. This resource will be regularly updated to assure that panels for development, validation and proficiency testing are maintained and available.
To be considered for award of this contract, offerors must be USDA-approved BSL3 Enhanced; or, USDA-approved BSL3 teamed with an USDA-approved BSL3 Enhanced Laboratory, for purposes of this acquisition. In addition, Select Agent registration will be required.
