This is a pre-solicitation notice for Furnishings Management Operations at Fairchild AFB. The Fairchild Housing Manager requires furniture management service, defined as any service or task performed to promote the goals of the Air Force Housing Program to provide for the comfort, convenience, and safety of dormitory residents by managing the life-cycle of Air Force or contractor furniture. Fairchild?s top priorities are quality of life for our Air Force members and affordability/life-cycle cost reduction. Specific tasks for this service will be proposed by each offeror in a technical and cost proposal. We encourage offerors to submit more than one solution with different technical and price values. Fairchild AFB will consider any solution to furniture management including Fairchild or contractor owned furniture; Fairchild or contractor disposal and replacement, Fairchild or contractor storage, and all other available options for solutions. This acquisition will be accomplished using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation Parts 12 and 13.5. This acquisition is 100 % set-aside for small business. The applicable North American Industry Classification System Codes are 493110 and 493190. Small business size standard is $21,500,000.00 for both NAICS 493110 and 493190. The performance period will be a 12-month basic period, with an anticipated start date of 1 Oct 02, and 4 one-year option periods. The Contracting Officer may consider and obtain approval for a total contract period in excess of five years, but not to exceed ten years and encourages contractors to propose periods longer than five years with an explanation of why the longer period is necessary or appropriate. The closing date and time for submission of offers will be contained in the solicitation package. The solicitation, notices, and all amendments will be posted and available for viewing and downloading on the Government Electronic Posting system (FedBizOpps) site at www.eps.gov on or about 15 May 02. No paper copies will be issued. When the solicitation is posted, it is the responsibility of the interested party to review this site frequently for any updates/amendments to any and all documents.
