Background Information for the Event: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) recognizes suppliers are crucial partners in helping it meet the challenges of supporting Veterans in the 21st century. Capitalizing on industry expertise, the department has embarked on a transformation of its end-to-end acquisition process - the Supplier Relationship Transformation (SRT). Since August 2009, VA has held various SRT forums throughout the country. Each forum provides VA suppliers with an opportunity to ask questions and voice concerns about the acquisitions process. This feedback is assisting VA to determine corrective policies, procedures, and actions. In 2011, VA will continue listening to suppliers, particularly those who have not yet been to a forum. On May 4, 2011, VA will host a (southeast) regional SRT forum in Tampa, FL. The purpose of the forum is to gain more feedback from suppliers about the acquisition lifecycle, contracting matters, and other pertinent issues. II. Objectives of the Event: " Inform VA suppliers about results from the Supplier Perception Survey and previous SRT Forums and VA's corrective actions " Solicit facilitated feedback on VA's corrective actions " Attain facilitated feedback on VA acquisition lifecycle from suppliers and commodity groups that were not able to attend the 2009 or 2010 SRT forums.
