Boulder BMU Decommissioning project on the Idaho Panhandle National Forests, Bonners Ferry Ranger District. This project consists of storing approximate 6.4 miles on four National forest System Roads. The Boulder BMU project includes brushing for contract equipment access, treating segments of existing roads by full recontour of the original roadbed, removing and disposing of existing culverts, removing and disposing of existing gates, constructing waterbars, constructing relief swales, and restoring stream channels. Stream channel restoration will include removing fill and drainage structures at stream crossing sites and returning these sites to their natural state, including the installation of permanent gradient control structure and application of mulch. The work also includes seeding all disturbed areas and final clean up of premises. This will be a construction project subject to Davis-Bacon. Price Range: $25,000 - $100,000.

The project is located in Bonner County, Idaho. The project area can be reached by going east from Bonners Ferry on County Road 24. Continue on CR-24, from the Bonners Ranger Station for 13.4 miles until it turns into Primary Forest Route 314. Continue on FR-314 for 8.5 miles and turn right on FR-408. Continue on FR-408 for approximately 0.6 miles to access FS Road 2112. An alternative route can be taken by going south from Bonners Ferry on HWY 95 for approximately 6.6 miles and turn left on Twenty Mile Creek Road.

It is anticipated the solicitation will be issued approximately April 20, 2011. The solicitation and all associated attachment will be available free of charge at the Federal Business Opportunities website at http://www.fbo.gov/

This project is a total set-aside for HUBZone small business concerns.

The project is expected to start after June 16, 2011 and conclude by approximately August 30, 2011.
