The Data Management Section is seeking vehicle axles sensors to collect vehicle weight, classification, speed, and volume data to provide a statistically sound basis for developing seasonal and daily adjustment factors used in the conversion of short duration counts to estimates of Annual Average Daily Traffic. The sensors will also provide information for the development of annual growth and axle adjustment factors for the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Traffic Forecasting, and Pavement Designing. These sensors will be used statewide to meet the above requirements for new and existing data collection sites. These sensors will be installed in good concrete or asphalt pavement at a free flowing traffic location. The quartz axle sensors have not been purchased in the past.
