Work shall consist of performing on-site and laboratory testing of bituminous and soil-aggregate materials. Work shall include having an appropriate number of qualified technician(s) on site (Elmendorf AFB) to perform designated tasks within four hours of notification by the Contracting Officer's on-site representative. Work may commence on and carry through Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays. During days for which notification is given, the successful bidder shall assume a minimum of 4 hours per day up to a maximum of 14 hours per day. Duties while on site shall include independently obtaining (or receiving from the contractor as appropriate) samples sufficient in size to meet the requirements for the specified ASTM tests, establishing a chain of custody for the samples obtained, and performing and recording onsite tests identified herein in the locations designated by the Contracting Officer's on-site representative. The procurement of on-site samples will, on occasion, include the core drilling of asphalt concrete.
