Sources Sought Notice This notice is for planning purposes only and shall not be considered an invitation for bid, request for quotation, request for proposal, or as an obligation of the government to acquire any products or services. Responses to this notice will be used for informational purposes only. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs from the government will arise as a result from a response to this announcement. No contract will be awarded from this notice. The information requested in this notice will be used to determine if there are sufficient socioeconomic small business concerns that are capable of performing the work described for the requirement. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 17 is seeking sources for the following procurement: Renal Biopsy Testing Services; Contractor shall provide Specialized Reference Laboratory Testing Services to the VA, South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS), in accordance with the attached Statement of Work. BACKGROUND Audie L. Murphy VA Hospital Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Services (P&LMS) 7400 Merton Minter Blvd. San Antonio, TX 78229 DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES The STVHCS system has a need for Specialized Reference laboratory Testing for Renal Biopsy Analysis to include Expert/Opinion for specific analysis on as needed basis as pre-approval rates are not to exceed the Medicare rate. It is necessary to have renal biopsy analysis with expedited processing and call-back results to attending nephrologist within 24-48 hours, which is critically important and considered standard of care for cases of rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis. Delayed processing of a renal biopsy specimen can lead to delayed recognition/treatment of rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis. See paragraph A.1 for lists of estimated testing needs.
