The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification relative to NAICS 621511. Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this sources sought synopsis, a solicitation announcement may be published on the Federal Business Opportunities website. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses to the solicitation announcement. All interested offerors will have to respond to the solicitation announcement.
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO22), is seeking sources for a potential contractor to provide all necessary labor, materials and equipment necessary to provide surgical pathology services for renal biopsies, muscle biopsies and consults in support of the VA San Diego Healthcare System (VASDHS), Pathology and Laboratory Department, located at 3350 La Jolla Village Drive, San Diego, CA, 92161. The Contractor will perform a morphologic interpretation of the tissues examined, along with the required ancillary tests (frozen sections, electronic microscopy, and special stains) to render a diagnosis and notify the VASDHS of the patient's progress of the study and provide final results.
The Contractor's laboratory must be located within reasonable proximity from VA San Diego Healthcare System, and the specimen must be able to reach the destination within no more than two hours via ground transportation. The contract shall consist of one base year and one option year.
