Market Research is being conducted to determine small business, small disadvantaged business, 8(a), Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Woman Owned Small Business or HUBZone's interest. The intent of this notice is to identify potential offerors for market research purposes and to determine whether to set-aside the requirement for small businesses. The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) Salem, VA is trying to determine whether to set-aside a contract to provide retina services to veterans at the VAMC. The solicitation will be issued in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and (FAR) Part 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The estimated amount for this service is between $150,000.00 and $1,000,000.00 The expected performance period is April 01, 2014 through March 31, 2015; with four option years (if exercised). The NACIS code is 561320The size standard is $25.5 Million. The scope of the acquisition includes but is not limited to: o Providing coverage for the Retinal Clinic located at the Salem VAMC o Providing services to clinic patients with hospital Residents in attendance o Performing surgical procedures (laser and intraocular injections) o Provide an ophthalmic photographer o Instructing Residents on ophthalmic procedures; and o Providing surgical attendings coverage for ophthalmic plastic surgery in the Salem VAMC Operating Room, and evaluating patients in the clinic.
