Fast turn- around-time is crucial to meet VHA performance measures. 3) Connectivity - The automated system must be capable of interfacing with Vista for electronic transfer of patient results into the computer system. 4) Simple/Safe Sample Collection Device - The collection device should be simple and easy for the patients to use. Compliance is a major issue with fecal occult blood testing. A simple, clean collection device is essential. Also, a collection device that does not require laboratory personnel to handle the specimen directly, improves safety in the laboratoryThe proposed period of performance shall be from 1 October 2009, thru September 30, 2010, with option years.
