The Cincinnati VA Medical Center intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Beckman Coulter for services of an automated urinalysis system, IRICELL 2000 Workcell, to provide rapid, high quality urinalysis test results for clinical diagnostic use. The contractor will provide: service and consumables (all reagents, controls and calibrations) necessary to operate the system. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 325413. The Government believes that Beckman Coulter is the only manufacturer that can satisfy the agency requirements. Therefore, the Government intends to proceed with a sole source procurement for the required supplies and or services. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302 - only one responsible source and no other vendor will satisfy agency requirements. To the best of our knowledge, Beckman Coulter, CA is the only source that provides the above indicated items and features. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within ten (10) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements.
