National Cancer Institute (NCI), Center for Cancer Research (CCR), Surgery Branch (SB) plans to procure on a sole source basis with Perfusion Associates, 123 Olney Sandy Spring, Road, Ashton, Maryland 20861 for the continued services of a certified perfusionist for several ongoing clinical trials using isolation perfusion techniques. The supplies and services herein are being procured in accordance with the simplified acquisition procedures authorized by FAR Part 13. The North American Industry Classification System Code is 621399 and the business size standard is $6.5M. The Surgical Metabolism Section is conducting an isolated limb perfusion trial and two isolated hepatic perfusion protocols. In addition, the Thoracic Oncology Section has trials of isolation lung perfusion. This regional treatment technique of isolation perfusion requires the use of an extracorporeal pump oxygenator and heat exchanger to administer the therapeutic agent to a region or organ of the body. Period of Performance: Twelve (12) months upon date of award. Perfusion Associates is primarily trained to conduct such cardiac operations and these techniques have been modified for the purposes of isolated organ or extremity perfusion such as what Perfusion Associates specializes in through numerous procedures performed for the Surgery Branch of the National Cancer Institute. Perfusion Associates is the only source known to the NCI that can provide the above requirements to support and continue several ongoing clinical trials using the isolation perfusion techniques. This is not a request for competitive quotation. However, if any interested party believes it can perform the above requirement, it may submit a statement of capabilities. The statement of capabilities and any other furnished information must be in writing and must contain material in sufficient detail to allow the NCI to determine if the party can perform this requirement.
