The Fleet Industrial Supply Center (FISC), Norfolk, Contracting Department, Philadelphia Division intends to acquire Pediatric/Neonatal Critical Transport Services and transport of non-critical neonates (infants under 28 days old) for the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP), Virginia. It is anticipated that during a twelve (12) month period there will be a need for approximately 160 pediatric and neonatal ambulance transports to and from NAVMEDCEN Portsmouth, VA. Ambulance Transport Services shall be provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, within a 75-mile radius of NMCP. The ambulance transportation team will consist of an RN, a Respiratory Therapist and Emergency Medical Technician/Emergency Vehicle Operator. FISCs intent is to process this procurement on a sole source basis to Childrens Hospital of the Kings Daughters, Norfolk, Virginia. FISCs intent is to issue a firm fixed price contract in accordance with FAR 12 (Commercial Items) and FAR 13.5 (Test Program for Certain Commercial Items) procedures. The Period of Performance is from 01 October 2008 through 30 September 2009, plus four one-year options ending 30 September 2013, if all options are exercised. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302.
