The Defense Logistics Agency, Defense Supply Center Philadelphia (DSCP), Medical Directorate, Readiness Commodity Business Unit is anticipating issuing a long-term single source solicitation to Synthes, a manufacturer, in order to purchase access to a specific range and depth of Medical/Surgical Orthopedic products in support of Industrial Mobilization. The Government is looking to purchase this access in order to ensure that the manufacturer is prepared to quickly respond and provide medical readiness items designated as critical by the Military Services for surge, re-supply and sustainment during times of mobilization, war, current and future military contingency operations as well as humanitarian, emergency and relief efforts. The solicitation will result in an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity type contract award with one (1) base year with the option to extend the contract for an additional nine (9) one-year options, for a total of ten (10) years.
