The Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Disease Control and prevention (CDC), National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Disease (NCIRD), Division of Viral Diseases (DVD) intends to issue RFQ 2007-Q-09772 on/or about 25 Jul 2007 to obtain quotes from interested contractors to generate monoclonal antibodies to the mumps virus. These antibodies will be used to develop various diagnostic tests for mumps. Balb/C mice will be used in the performance of this project. The outbreak of mumps in 2006 highlighted the critical need to develop new diagnostic tests for mumps, particularly in the development of rapid serological assays to assess disease status and immunity from infection. At present the number of monoclonal antibodies to mumps virus is extremely limited and in many cases the quantities of these reagents are restricted because the hybridoma cell lines are not viable or are unavailable. When issued, the RFQ with the full statement of work can be accessed through the internet at http://www.fbo.gov. Any amendments issued to the RFQ will also be made available at the same website. It is the Contractor?s responsibility to keep up with additional posting regarding this pre-solicitation notice on the FedBizOpps (FBO) website. If you are a small business of any category and are interested in submitting a quotation for this procurement it is requested that you make your interest as well as your small business size qualifications for NAICS code 621511 known to the Contract Specialist at [email protected] no later than 24 Jul 2007. If at least two (2) quotes from small businesses can be expected to be received, this procurement will be issued as a set-aside for small business. Otherwise, quotations will be sought under full and open competition.
