The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Accuri Cytometers, 173 Parkland Plaza, Ann Arbor, MI 48103, for a SY-03 C6 Flow Cytometer, Cflow Plus Software, Workstation and CSampler, and CP-158, C6 flow Cytometer 1-year Maintenance Kit. This particular equipment is desired due to its 2-laser, 6-color capability and small benchtop footprint (2.1 sq. ft., weighing less than 30 pounds) as space in the laboratory is limited. It provides ease-of-use cell analysis for biologists who do not have extensive training in flow cytometry. It also features the following required specifications: >6 decade simultaneous dyanmic range, 488nm and 640nm excitation, side- and forward-scatter detection with 4-color emission detection (503/30nm, 585/40nm, 670nm LP, and 625/25nm), plus fixed voltage and gain setting which allows the user to avoid a complex procedure for setting compensation used by other multi-color systems. CDC believes that this requirement is met by only one provider. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 6.302-2. Only one responsible source and no other sources will satisfy agency requirements. No solicitation is being issued.
